That is frankly, quite shocking to me to see Mr. Humphrey that high on the NFL food chain. #4 is the first elite corner taken in the draft. I kind of thought with the year he was having, another season at the Capstone would be very doable. But not if he's going to be hearing draft projections like this on his evaluation.

4. Carolina Panthers

Marlon Humphrey , CB, Alabama Crimson Tide : Carolina has several questions marks on its cornerback depth chart, but adding Humphrey, who is NFL-ready right now, would help change that.

A too early projection. They're guessing at the draft order (based on current standings) and needs (based on where a team sucks right now). I would ignore any team-specific draft projection until mid-December.

"NFL DraftScout forced to find new profession..."

But for real... He's just not very physical yet. The Ole Miss receiver kinda made him look like a high schooler. He's got a ton of value with instincts and speed, but barring a huge finish for him I can't see him going ahead of Allen or Foster.

I genuinely hope Marlon stays one more season for his own development. Feels like he gets picked on more that Averett. He's been great against the run and is super physical. But he hasn't been great when the balls in the air. And in the NFL, the balls in the air, a lot.

He definitely needs one more year. he doesn't need the money as his family has done well, so he will sustain a longer future with more experience. If receivers blow past him now on a weekly basis, they'll destroy him in the NFL. he's a solid player, but has tendencies. he would have a Johnathon Allen/Reggie Ragland type affect on the team if he stays.
