The Big East sued TCU for failing to pay the conference $5 million after the school reneged on an agreement to become a member and chose to join the Big 12 instead.

The Big East filed the lawsuit Monday in U.S. District Court in Washington.

I'm not sure why TCU didn't look into the Big 12 first anyway.

I have to wonder about the future of the Big East. West Virginia is gone. TCU backed out. And in a year or two, Pittsburgh and Syracuse will be playing in the ACC. Not to mention, Louisville now wants out.

Before you joined, we had several discussion about the time the Big 12- SEC agreement was put in place. One of the things mentioned was this was a move where the voices of the ACC and the Big East would be irrelevant.

If you look over the articles written in the last few days you'll see opinions from the commissioners of the BCS conferences, sans one. The Big East.

Their death knell started years ago ('81-'82) when they had the opportunity to include Penn State but they chose to focus more on basketball with the addition of Pitt. Within the last few years, they've continued to add basketball schools with little attention paid to the football programs.
