When it comes to his passing offense, Alabama coach Nick Saban is pointing to "a huge improvement" in two weeks of practices leading up to Saturday's 2:30 p.m. game against LSU. "We've worked hard on the passing game, and it shows," Saban said. "I think our players are playing with more confidence now. (Quarterback) Greg (McElroy) has done a really good job of getting the ball out of his hand on time, and I think that we've improved on pass protection."
Saban has stressed that he wants the Crimson Tide's offense to attempt more throws downfield and test the middle of the field against LSU. Alabama went the month of October without a completed pass longer than 27 yards.

-----------------------------------
It looks like it will be a game-time decision Saturday for Alabama tight end Colin Peek, who has been recovering from a sprained MCL suffered in his left knee during warm-ups before the Tennessee game.
Saban said on his radio show tonight that Peek remained "questionable for this game, at least for now."
Peek has practiced some this week but was not full-speed during any of Alabama's workouts. Saban said Alabama is prepared to play without him, and redshirt freshman Michael Williams would get the bulk of the snaps in Peek's place.

-----------------------------------
LSU center T-Bob Hebert, the son of former NFL quarterback Bobby Hebert, is gearing up to face big Alabama nose tackle Terrence Cody in what will be one of Saturday's more intriguing matchups.
"He's as good as it's going to get as far as interior defensive linemen go," Hebert said. "I don't think I've ever played against a guy as good as him. It's going to be interesting."
Hebert, a sophomore listed at 6-foot-3, 301 pounds, was rated by Rivals as the No. 2 center prospect in the nation when he signed with LSU.

-----------------------------------
Crimson Tide tailback Roy Upchurch noted that LSU's defense has "a lot of playmakers," but he wouldn't concede that the Tigers had the best defense that he has faced this season.
"Not the toughest," Upchurch said. "The toughest I've seen is our defense - a shout-out to those guys. But just like any other defense. If we do our job and go out and execute, we'll be unstoppable."
