On the long touchdown pass to White and the touchdown pass to Hanks. We ran a formation I don't recall seeing. If so it hasn't been used much. had 4 wide but all were just off tackle. Anyway resulted in 2 touchdowns. Anybody care to name that formation for me and also. With out success out of the pistol the last 2 years mostly in 09 why don't we use that much anymore?

Didn't get to watch anything but the highlights of the game, but as far as us not running the pistol...there might be a lot of formations that we haven't showed yet. We haven't really played any close games so far. Penn State was probably the closest.

Not sure if this is the real reason, but we also haven't seen as much Wildcat as years past either.

It would be appreciated if some of our tech savvy guys on here could post a video of the plays in question.

It seems i think ive definitely seen a lot more of the pistol formation ibt the last couple of games. Also seems like using motion with groupings that load a lot of players to one side is occurring more

All it is, is a double twins set with all receivers bunched in close. This allows for the possibility of "max" protection if needed and you can use more "rub" or "pick" routes against man coverage. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see alot of this with Lswho in a few weeks. They will likely try to man up on our receivers and keep a max number in the box to stop the run.
