The only motel magnet better than a Cracker Barrel is a strip club.

There are few new hotels in Tuscaloosa. I live here and will find out exactly for you but I have seen 2 or 3 built since last season.

There is a microtellinn being built a bit down the Hwy from where I live...

I've never stepped foot in one...what are they comparable to...HI Express? Days?

I travel alot for work and ive stayed in a ton of microtell's and 98% of them are really nice. Like a Days Inn

Glad to hear that. I'm shooting for this one for Homecoming. Never stayed in one myself, but this one seems to be centrally located (near 15th and McFarland). Now I just have to find the nearest place to start the Pub Crawl. Any suggestions from the locals?

Microtel's are nice, but the rooms are TINY...hence the name. Don't expect the whole family to be able to fit in one room.

As far as the pub crawl, I'd head downtown and stick with those bars. There's more to choose from and it's easy to bar hop. If you're 20-22 age range, I'd try the strip.

Correct and there are a couple more being built right off of Exit 73. One next to Ramada Inn on Skyland Blvd. and the other down the street on Skyland in front of the Alabama Career Center(Employment Office).

Well I was planning on working on my 40 time back at the room, but that can wait I guess. Its just the Mrs. and I, so I suspect we can squeeze in there somehow. Sacrifice, Sacrifice. ( I apologize in advance to the folks next door.)

Who cares? All I've ever needed was a bed a sink and a crapper! Remember, I'm in jail!

Thansk for the info on the Microtell. It was the only hotel that I could find that had openings for the November 15th weekend. On their website the rooms look really nice. Best part about it is for 6 days/nights it's onl going to cost me $617 and some change.

Again thanks.

Cory

This is good to know.

Just a heads up... If you have never stayed in a Microtel, when they say "micro" they are NOT KIDDING!

It literally is a bed and bathroom. The TVs are usually mounted on the wall because there is no room for furniture for the TV to sit on.

It's perfect for football, though. Just a place to sleep.
