šŸˆ New Florida coach....

I heard Cowherd say that this morning. I have been racking my noodle trying to figure out his "STAB" comment. Anyone have a clue there?

Stoops you think? Now that the Big XII is losing a few members you think he will go? I'm not so sure about Gruden, seems like he is comfortable in the booth right now.

I don't think we will see any SEC coaches jump ship so who does that leave? Always fun to speculate. :dazed:

One day, either Gruden will take one of these college jobs, or perhaps he'll step out and ask the public to stop including him in every single job opening. I think it's quite possible that he never wants to coach again. Can't say I'd blame him, if the ESPN checks are big enough. Stoops I guess I could see, since he worked there before and he's a proven winner. But I'm also getting the feeling that Oklahoma is a lifer job for him, and he's pretty happy.

With all the off-field stuff that the SEC has to deal with, it's a wonder any coach would want to come into this league. Frankly, I think Nick Saban's presence here in the SEC is a big scare for a lot of coaches knowing the level of work they'd have to put in to beat him.

Remember last year when Suburben quit and went in the hospital? A friend of mine (is friends with Foley) who happens to post both here and at my board mentioned that the reason he came back was because he wanted to name his successor (SIC: Dan Mullen). Foley didn't allow that and Meyer came back. If you made me guess...the two on their board are Stoops and Mullen. Stoops is not happy at OU (from what I have heard) going all the way back to the OU booster with the car dealership. His best friend and former OU AD is currently at Michigan. I think Stoops may be watching the Richrod situation to see what happens there. If Richrod doesn't survive, Stoops may very well end up with the Big Blue. This is purely speculation on my part other that the part about Meyer's retirement last year. I do believe that was fact.

I believe the Michigan alums want Harbaugh at Stanford to come home. Mullen and Petrino I believe are the two marquee names that will likely bolt. On a side note, Scarbinsky wrote this morning that he doesn't understand why UF doesn't go after Cheesit! I'm gonna answer that question and say it is because all of the mess that is going to go down there at the Barn.

I wasn't implying that UF should go after Cheesit. Scarbinsky had the question "Why isn't he on the coaching hot list?" I agree with you that he isn't worth much without his OC. Other than his OC, he doesn't bring much other than to be somebody's puppet!!

Question: why is Malzahn not on Florida's list? Pitt's list? ...I may be wrong, and he may have been mentioned for all those jobs, but I don't know about it then

Gus isn't ready for a marquee program like Florida. He left Springdale with Mitch Mustain--Mustain is still at USC.

Pitt or another intermediate type program? Maybe. No way a program like Florida takes a chance on a guy less than five years removed from a high school coaching job with ZERO head coaching experience at the college level.

Word on da streets per tigerdroppings/sec rant...Stoops will be named early next week despite the normal statement of I am not going to Florida routine, I am sure Patrino was considered but Arky acted quickly to secure him
