šŸ“” New Alabama president Peter Mohler on "Hey Coach" about record 42,360 enrollment:

Interesting perspective from President Mohler. I know the last few incoming freshmen classes have outstanding academic accolades, but maybe it's time to raise the ACT entrance score.

(old man perspective, so get off my lawn) All I know is that UA is nothing like it was when I was there in the late 80s/early 90s. It's so damn crowded now.

Amen to this!! I’m thinking that the freshman class I came in with in ā€˜89 was around 2,800 and that was the record at the time. The campus exploded since that time as well!

What culture?

Doesn't feel like a college campus much anymore. Million dollar condos, million dollar townhomes surround the stadiums. Construction consistently closing streets, dorms that look like big tech offices in size. Tailgating has been taken away unless you pay big money. Stores been forced to move closer to downtown and away from campus. I could go on.

I mean time have changed ...

You asked what changed, so I shared. Some of us enjoyed the traditional college town and not the contemporary urban city vibe. If I wanted that I would have gone to Georgia State or Georgia Tech. Heck, even Athens sucks as s college town anymore. Not sure about y'all, but I damn sure couldn't afford to go out and eat at these places that have popped up in Tuscaloosa. I couldn't afford to drink at them either.

Okay I think I understand that and you're right.
