🏈 ND vs TX (10 game series)

guess ND is trying to help sell some LHN subscriptions...

As soon as I type this I'll jump over to one of the news/twitter forums here and find a link.

Until then, and if I don't, where are you hearing 10 games? A couple of years ago—I'm thinking it was 2010?—they announced a four game series.

On a slightly related note there were a few blurbs in the news just a couple of days ago that Ole Miss fans were going to be given an option to watch their game with Texas this fall. Their game is going to be broadcast on LHN.

I failed to mention that in the original post that this isn't confirmed, just being discussed "supposedly". Landthieves, Shabbybevo, and Irishenvy have been talking about it.

Playing Michigan doesn't help them in recruiting...playing Texas would.

Pete Sampson and TJ34 confirmed a rumor on Irish Illustrated that Notre Dame and Texas are close to agreeing on a ten year deal. Sampson expects it to he announced in the coming weeks or months with him and TJ agreeing that final sign offs from Texas are all that's left. TJ said it "effectively replaces Michigan, and could be a deal that would get redone in future years depending on how things go quite a bit down the CFB road, obviously. It's a deal both sides want very much. Could see something along the lines of 4 games each home and home, with a couple as "Shamrock Series" equivalents in pro stadiums such as Jerry World (Dallas) and Soldier Field. Something like that TBD."

This trend of playing in another teams stadium I beginning not to like. LSU and Wisconsin are talking about it, in Houston (Reliant) and Green Bay (Lambeau). Seriously, why not play at your own stadiums...

Money and exposure - in that order - would be my guess. I would think Bama's take on a single neutral site game would exceed what it would realize in a home and away with another BCS opponent.
