Not sure there is much benefit to this.

By my count, we've had 36 EE's (includes a handful JuCo's and Jai Miller) in the last 4 years, which is roughly 1/3 of our recruiting classes over those years.

It is roughly four months of the recruiting season that the staff's at different schools won't have to continually visit players who are still being heavily pursued by other programs.

I'd have liked to seen a change in when those kids can have official visits as well. If they are going to be allowed to sign before their senior season in high school at least loosen up some of the restrictions so they'll be allowed to enjoy the "official visit circle."

I agree it isn't a huge move but at least they're leaning in the right direction.

If I remember correctly CNS pointed out the downside of early signings also in addition to positives. Downside is that CNS and staff are superb at turning commits to other schools right before the Feb. date. Think of all the five star late flips to Bama, all players who seemed firmly committed to the other school months earlier. Think of Yeldon and/or C. Kouandjio signing early with the Barn, yuck:) Yin and Yan.
