The writers for footballscoop are falling dangerously close to being pathetic as well. More and more I'm seeing opinion pieces versus actual reporting. Here, a Texas grad can't help but throw in his opinion.
At the center of this is $3 million Beaty says Kansas owes him as part of his buyout. The Beaty camp says Kansas is looking for a ādead hookerā in order to get out of paying the required $3 million buyout, while Kansas says it learned of possible NCAA violations committed by Beaty ā thereby getting KU out of paying Beatyās buyout, how convenient!!! ā during the exit interview process after his November firing, and that Beaty has refused to cooperate with KUās investigation.
I read this piece and the first thing that came to mind was Elmore Leonard's rules of writing. He touches on including things in written pieces that sound writtenāmuch like the need for Barnett to include his little diatribeānever should be written and also mentions how one should limit exclamation points to two or three per 100,000 words.
There is a key phrase here that's simply glossed over, "that Beaty has refused to cooperate with KUās investigation." He's suing for backpay with KU is refusing to pay at this point due to an investigation on dealings under his own watch. But, he's refusing to cooperate. "How convenient" is conveniently left out.
