šŸˆ NCAA approves commercial logo's on jersey's starting Aug 1st.

I remember that.

This is what my ideal world looks like with the logo's.

It's easy to see why I like Capstone Building. In what could be an intended consequence the reference would be smoother with the older generation with "Capstone."

You'll see what I mean below. No text on the jersey, just the logo.

Have permanent signage around the stadium so people will see the logo and company name together. Hypothetically, somewhere in the corners.

BTW, folks. If you didn't read the NCAA release:

The Division I Cabinet on Friday approved a proposal that will allow Division I sports programs to place additional commercial logos or patches on uniforms, equipment and apparel for any non-NCAA championship competition, including the regular season.

"College sports are in an exciting new era of increased financial benefits for student-athletes, and the Cabinet's vote today reflects the ongoing commitment of Division I members to drive additional revenues and fully fund those benefits," said Josh Whitman, athletics director at Illinois and chair of the Cabinet. "This also continues the NCAA's efforts to expand flexibility in areas of NCAA rules, thereby allowing schools and conferences to set standards that reflect their values and serve their unique needs. This important policy change is another step forward in advancing that philosophy and providing members with increased flexibility."

Effective Aug. 1, all Division I teams will be permitted up to two additional commercial logos on their uniforms and apparel and one additional commercial logo on equipment during the preseason and regular season, with an additional commercial logo on uniforms and apparel for conference championships. The patches will be limited to a maximum of 4 square inches per logo.

Restrictions on the placement of the logos will be addressed by the respective playing rules subcommittees, oversight committees and sport committees (for National Collegiate championship sports), with the continued expectation that logos must be placed outside of designated sections of uniforms as necessary for officiating purposes.

The Cabinet also supported NCAA staff efforts to explore possible policies for teams to wear commercial patches during NCAA Championships, in collaboration with NCAA corporate marketing and media rights partners.

Nike isn't losing its space. We can assume one patch will be on the opposite side.

Where will teams put the second patch? 4" maximum, right? So, on the pants opposite Nike again? (Nike has a logo on the pants, don't they?)

Sponsors will want visibility - during the game broadcast and in photos. That would mean on the jersey near the Nike logo and/or the SEC logo.

That's, basically, what I said with the first example: opposite Nike's. It would be in the same position relative to the jersey number.

The question is more about the second patch. They approved two patches.

Another...where do they put the SEC Grad stuff?

Hey, that company makes hay in the state of Alabama! Couch rentals, dining room table rentals. Repo fees for not paying for said couch. Alabamians are good business!
As a side gig I built/installed CMS systems for seven of their locations some 15 years ago. While teaching the locations how to enter their inventory and those other details what they had "in" each item was the interesting part. At least their customers were "out" if the paid it off in two years...ya know, that $400 TV for $99 a month. At least their merch was better than RentAWay and whatever that other one was.

There was a rent to own car rim store here several years ago. I have no idea how that worked ...

will Auburn have a picture of the yella man on their shoulder pads???? Cause that would be epic………
Two patches on the top of each shoulder pad? Those are location(s) I hadn't considered.

Another thought crosses my mind this morning. We going to see a long-standing, off-season tradition come to an end. No longer will we see "Who has the best looking uniforms in college football?" It'll now be "Who had..."
