🏈 NC ticket allocation

want to say it was 17k per school.

I know that was the allocation last year. The Sun Life Stadium and the Superdome seat roughly the same amount so that number is probably pretty accurate this year as well.

The one caveat is "how many tickets does the school release?"

To the OP's question.

Hard to get. If you aren't a member of TidePride and have the points you aren't getting them through UA or ND.

Scalper or ticket broker is what you have left.

I know of lots of folks who got them in '09 and last year that missed the cut this year... And some if these folks made the cut EASILY in those other years. One couple has season tickets in several UA sports and has been in TP since the beginning. The points cutoff was surprising to most everyone I think.

All I know is that the email from the University Athletic Department said 0-501 points would not get you tickets and I know people who had more than 501 points that were also turned down?

It seems as though the number of points required for these type games keeps increasing along with the success we are having.

Ticket prices are the worst I have ever seen with a single seat going for a minimum of $1200.00 up to $5000.00!

I have a feeling that there will be about a 60-40 split as far as fans in favor of Notre Dame because of their connections and money with the rest going to sports celebrities and people such as that...

In other words I think the Stadium will be crawling with the Irish!

I read, somewhere, the other day that Alabama had over 48k requests for 17,000 tickets. Notre Dame had over 100k requests. I wonder if OSU would rent out the horseshoe for one night and add seats in the open end zone. They have no use for it right now! :biggrin_blue:

17k doesn't seem alot for the capacity of the stadium. Does the rest go to corporate people and sponsers etc?

It seats just over 76K leaving 42K open. Along with the corporate people and sponsors there's quite that end up in the hands of ticket brokers and the like.

The later is a weird world/circle to be in. If you want a certain amount of tickets to one game you'll end having to buy tickets to another bowl and on down the line. I believe his tickets to the BCSCG came way of buying a certain number from a smaller, non-BCS bowl but I can't recall which one it is. I want to say it was a package deal with the Chick-Fil-A bowl allotment he purchased.
