šŸ“ National Signing Day - 2018

The day he claimed to have called one of the AL.com writers to confirm a story he was the butt of a few jokes. Considering the timeline and who he said he called his story fell apart. Zenitz, or however you spell his name, had already tweeted the "news" he was sharing and confirming. It was a joke.

What was funnier was the claim he knew Thompson's dad and they were really good friends but he didn't have a clue what was going on with DT when he was hurt in post-season practices.

Didn't he deserve "the shade?"

I think he knows a lot more than folks are giving him credit for. We texted back and forth a good bit and he's a good guy. He was pretty spot on though with a lot he said. CrimsonBoz got drilled too, but he was putting in some good information as well. Sometimes people just don't like being called liars and pelted with stones when all they are doing is providing information, not changing and telling someone else how to run their life. I think a lot of folks are guilty of jumping people's shit on this site when they provide information, and it unfortunately runs folks off. I happen to enjoy any and everything I can get, and then I make my own assumptions, not living or dying by their every word. I've enjoyed everything @crimsoncorner has provided. They're doing all the dirty work so we can come here and get involved ourselves when we have time. I appreciate the hell out of anyone that offers information. Let's buckle up for a great Signing Day!!!

I think by now we all know he's a slimeball. Why make this post without at least a bit of background on his "lies"?
That's been pretty well documented here since he left Tuscaloosa. The hotbed that is Georgia recruiting has always operated on the line. Those who characterized Richt as a saint (ironically, many of the same that toted Freeze's jock strap for a long time) missed that mark and you're seeing evidence--more evidence--of that in Miami. Anyone who suggests Garner was anything more than one of the orchestrators in Athens needs only to run a google search on Garner and Bowden.

What's changed in Kirby's tenure is a network that now has marching orders versus one that didn't follow Richt step for step.

Breaking ... LSU lose CB to Clemson

For the second time in as many years, the LSU Tigers lost a key recruiting battle to the those from Clemson.
With a need for cornerbacks in the 2018 recruiting class, 4-star Missouri athlete Mario Goodrich III — a projected to play outside cornerback — committed to Clemson on Wednesday over Georgia and LSU.

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Goodrich officially visited LSU on Jan. 12, but did not give the Tigers a commitment then. He made an official to Athens, Ga., the following weekend before making his way to Clemson on Jan. 26. Afterward, he hosted coach Dabo Swinney for an in-home visit and announced he would no longer take visits before his Signing Day decision, an encouraging sign for Clemson.

LSU did not sign a defensive back in December and lost both starting cornerbacks to the NFL draft.

Goodrich, who also took snaps at wide receiver and a return specialist for Lee’s Summit West (Mo.) High School, had 282 yards receiving with 6 touchdowns as a junior. Defensively, he recorded 46 tackles, including 7.5 for loss, along with 12 pass breakups and 7 interceptions.

Goodrich was committed to Nebraska for much of his senior year before reopening his recruitment in December. Raymond offered soon after, then made an in-home visit with the 4-star cornerback within 24 hours. Throughout December, this was LSU’s race to lose.

This is another casualty of tight numbers in LSU’s 2018 class. The Tigers had 21 signees during the December early signing period and had to operate carefully throughout January into Signing Day.

All of that drama would have been avoided if they had more social grace than a hungry mosquito. Anyone who throws "my sources" out there as if it's something special when it's "my opinion" deserves what they get.

Both these guys got some flak, I agree. Boz pasting an email that wasn't supposed to be public is what ran him off after being told that wasn't supposed to be public. I remember that day clearly.

You have to have thick skin to get into debates on message forums. A bunch of folk get a little upset and run off like you say but they're going to find that anywhere if they jump in with look at me and what I read or know or heard

I know @planomateo and @TerryP and @doemasters are here in the background. What say you?

So Brown comes out and "delays" his announcement so the beat writer for A&M can get there. These kids lie so much that they believe everyone they tell.

You can't get upset about these kids. They are kids being pulled in 20 different directions by adults, wanting to make everybody happy and they end up leading everybody on to some extent. In many cases they aren't getting the best advice from "parent" or handlers so it comes down to who they believe.

He is a Texas kid, Texas A&M made an enourmous investment in their football program and every dlineman they had is gone this year. Not a bad decision for him.. but of course we could have used another big body.

"The main thing was that I finally realized that nobody's going to play one down for me. I had to make a decision solely for me," Brown told the website. "I just took it all to heart and basically made a business decision on where I wanted to play.
"I know where my heart is."

Alabama has already signed 15 players and has eight spots to fill. Brown won't be taking up one of them, which is a surprise.

Not upset! I understand exactly what these kids are going through. Been in education 24 years, 15 as a coach. If it isn't a parent, it's a coach, or a handler telling them which way to go. But there does come a time that the kid has to make a "grown man" decision and be honest with everyone, including himself. Don't tell both staffs that you are coming. Don't "delay" your ceremony 2 hours to only wait 15 minutes so the A&M beat writer can get there and video you faxing in your LOI.

I agree with you as well. Guess I'm kind of playing both sides of the fence, but I will just say I enjoy the information any way I can get it. Humility is a big thing too, so you're right there.
