📝 National Signing Day - 2018

Per Andrew Bone, 9:30 pm"

I hope you all enjoy signing day!

Jaylen Waddle, five-star wide receiver from Episcopal High School in Houston

-Waddle has been one of the Crimson Tide's top targets since the spring. He seemed more like a long shot in the beginning. It started to change after he visited Alabama during the summer. He made a few more trips to Tuscaloosa in the fall. Alabama became the odds-on-favorite to land his signature. Jimbo Fisher definitely closed the gap since his arrival in College Station. I spoke with a few people on Tuesday who still believe Alabama has the edge and will land his commitment. Anything can happen between now and his announcement. It's close, but I think Waddle is set on his choice. Current prediction: Alabama. Announcement time: 3:30 p.m. (CST)

Justyn Ross, five-star wide receiver from Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama

-The state's No. 1 player will announce his decision on Wednesday. Most expect his decision to come down between Alabama and Clemson. Auburn definitely made a late push, but it will surprise if he chooses in-state Tigers. Clemson was long considered the favorite to land his signature. The momentum seems to have shifted since he took an official visit to Alabama on January 19-21. Still been a lot of back-and-forth going on between Alabama and Clemson. Clemson has yet to concede Ross to Alabama. I believe he stays in-state. Current prediction: Alabama. Announcement time: 1:00 p.m. (CST)

Nick Petit-Frère, five-star offensive tackle from Berkeley Prep in Tampa, Florida

-Alabama felt a little bit better about this one on Monday than they do on Tuesday evening. Petit-Frere had give the Tide all the right signs of a likely commitment since his visit on January 19. He traveled to Florida and then Ohio State for the final two visits. I did not think Ohio State would make up as much ground as it did in the last few weeks. Many thought the rumors of Greg Schiano taking the DC job at New England would cause a major effect. It doesn't appear the case. I'm not sure what Ohio State's OL situation is right now. I know the Buckeyes missed on the key target- Jackson Carman (Clemson). Alabama has some great young talent at the position. It's not to say he couldn’t come in and compete for PT right away. I just think he saw immediate need elsewhere. Current prediction: Ohio State Announcement time: 9:00 a.m. (CST)

Penei Sewell, Rivals100 offensive tackle from Desert Hills High School in St. George, Utah

-Sewell became one of Alabama's top OL targets after visiting Tuscaloosa in June with his entire family. Alabama was immediately considered the favorite to land his commitment. He considered announcing a decision prior to the start of his senior season. He delayed his announcement after taking a few more visits during the summer including a trip to Oregon. The Ducks seemed to capture his attention and he developed a very strong relationship with OL coach (now HC) Mario Cristobal. Alabama has recruited Sewell for a very long time. His family has always been very high on the Crimson Tide. He just doesn't seem like he wants to go too far from home. It has seemed that way for a while. Current prediction: Oregon Announcement time: 3:00 p.m. (MTN)

JJ Peterson, Rivals100 linebacker from Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, Georgia

-Peterson was considered an Alabama lock from the very start of his recruitment. He appeared set on signing with Alabama until Jeremy Pruitt became the head coach at Tennessee. Peterson announced his commitment to the Volunteers at the US Army All-American game in early January. Alabama did not give up in its pursuit of the elite linebacker. Peterson took an official visit to Alabama. I know there was some talk about Alabama possibly neck-and-neck with Tennessee heading into signing day. I never really got that vibe based on talking to a few different people. Current prediction: Tennessee Announcement time: TBD

Bobby Brown, four-star defensive tackle from Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas

-Brown became Alabama's No. 1 DL target after attending Alabama's camp during the summer. There was a strong feeling he would give his commitment to Alabama. He eventually committed to Texas A&M in order to stay closer to his family. All bets were off when the Aggies parted ways with Kevin Sumlin. Brown decommitted from Texas A&M on December 20. He committed to Alabama on December 22. Brown returned to Tuscaloosa on January 20-21 with several members of his family. He has kept everyone on their toes especially after a return to College Station this past weekend. Brown could easily decide to flip back to Texas A&M on Wednesday. Current prediction: Alabama Announcement time: Around 10 a.m. (CST)

Malik Langham, four-star defensive end from Lee High School in Huntsville, Alabama

-Langham has been on Alabama's radar for a long time despite receiving an offer from Alabama in December. Alabama was high on him after seeing him at camp. It appeared Alabama took a solid lead after the offer. He took an official visit to Alabama on January 19-21. The word is he was sold on the Tide. He visited Auburn this past weekend, but the Tigers were not considered much of a threat. Rumors started to circulate on Tuesday Langham will select Florida. Kind of one of those out of left field type things. He may choose the Gators on Wednesday. It's hard to turn down the in-state national champions when they want you pretty bad. Current prediction: Alabama Announcement time: 2:30 p.m. (CST)

Quay Walker, Rivals100 linebacker from Crisp County High School in Cordele, Georgia

-I remember being on a flight to Indianapolis in June when Walker announced his commitment to Alabama. He took several other trips throughout the summer and fall. It always seemed like he would flip to Auburn or Georgia. Tennessee became a strong contender when Jeremy Pruitt became the head coach. Walker is not expected to stick with his original decision. Current prediction: Georgia or Tennessee Announcement time: 10:00 a.m. (CST)

Glenn Beal, three-star tight end from John Curtis Christian in River Ridge, Louisiana

-Beal is another prospect who was on the Tide's radar for a long time. It didn't seem like the opportunity to commit would ever present itself. Beal took an official visit to Alabama on January 26. It just doesn't look like he will join Alabama's class. Current prediction: Texas A&M Announcement time: 12:00 p.m. (CST)

Jaylen Moody, two-star linebacker from Conway High School in South Carolina

-Alabama started looking at possible options at linebacker after Quay Walker and Vernon Jackson would likely end up elsewhere. Moody is one who caught Alabama's eye. He took an official visit this past weekend. He also understood where things were in the pecking order. He would have to wait for the opportunity to commit. He will have the opportunity. Current prediction: AlabamaAnnouncement time: 9:15 a.m. (CST)

Vernon Jackson, three-star linebacker from Boling High School in Texas

-Jackson committed to Alabama during the fall instead of Texas and TCU. He continued to take visits during the fall. Alabama attempted to hold on to his commitment. He visited Tuscaloosa on January 19-21. He also visited Texas, TCU and Texas A&M. He is not expected to stick with the Crimson Tide. Current prediction: Texas A&M Announcement time: TBD

Eddie Smith, three-star cornerback from Salmen High School in Slidell, Louisiana

-I remember when another Eddie received an offer from Alabama after the Crimson Tide won the national championship against Notre Dame. Eddie Jackson became a major target and eventual star for Alabama. He started as a rookie for the Chicago Bears. Smith is one of Alabama's top DB targets. He visited Alabama, Mississippi State and Tennessee in January. Tennessee was the early favorite prior to his official visit to the Capstone. The momentum completely shifted in the Tide's favor. Current prediction: AlabamaAnnouncement time: 8:00 a.m. (CST)

Jacob Copeland, four-star wide receiver from Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida

-Copeland is one of those star athletes who has been on Alabama's radar since the very start of his recruitment. He delivered a powerful statement via Twitter on Tuesday afternoon about the struggles of making a decision. He seems very torn between Alabama and Florida. It's not likely he will choose Florida State or Tennessee. I've heard Alabama believes it has a chance. Alabama will accept his commitment. Florida is definitely in the mix here. Current prediction: Too close to call Announcement time: 1:00 p.m. (CST). (Hope to update on Wednesday morning).

Isaac Taylor-Stuart, five-star cornerback from Helix High School in San Diego, California

-Interesting to see what happens with the five-star DB. There are a lot of different rumors regarding which school has room. He could end up at Tennessee, Texas A&M or USC. I don't expect him to sign with Alabama. Current prediction: USC? Announcement time: ?

Olajiah Griffin, five-star cornerback from Mission Viejo High School in California

-The son of west coast Rapper, Warren G, received an offer from Alabama in mid-January. He decided to take an official visit. Griffin likes the SEC, but his family prefers him to stay closer to home. Current prediction: USC Announcement time: ?

Patrick Surtain, five-star cornerback/Tyson Campbell, five-star cornerback from American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida
-Alabama has fought very hard for both of the five-star DBs from south Florida. Surtain was considered a lock from the start of his recruitment to LSU. Many expected Campbell (early on) to sign with Miami. Things started to change with Surtain after each visit to see the Crimson Tide. He also made a trip to Atlanta for the Tide's season opener against Florida State. Alabama really became a contender for Surtain when he took his official visit on January 19-21. Campbell visited on the dame weekend. Both are likely to leave their home state. Alabama is battling LSU for Surtain and Georgia for Campbell. There is also the rumor of LSU DBs coach Corey Raymond possibly leaving Baton Rouge for Columbus, Ohio, after signing day. I received a call late Tuesday evening regarding Georgia's concern that Alabama is definitely in the race for Campbell. Things could go either way on Wednesday. It's going to happen early. I'm not sure Alabama will get both. Current prediction: Alabama gets at least one of the two. Announcement time: 9:00 a.m (CST)

Recruiting - BONE: Final thoughts/predictions heading into Wednesday | BamaInsider.com

I think by now we all know he's a slimeball. Why make this post without at least a bit of background on his "lies"?

I guess because I dislike him for taking pictures of the Bama recruiting board before he left, tells recruits that Saban is washed up, and consistently negatively recruits against Bama. Not to mention the Mo Smith ordeal. The NC game was super personal to Saban and the coaching staff. So far, Pruitt has not done any of the above.

Proof of negative recruiting

For two years people around the program have grumbled about Smart's ruthless maneuver to try to gain an edge on his old employer. It's one example of many they'll tell you to explain why Saban and Smart aren't close though both have been cordial publicly ahead of Monday's College Football Playoff National Championship. It's a move that goes directly against what Jeremy Pruitt, following in a similar path as Smart, said in New Orleans about valuing coaching friendships over a single recruit .

100% agree. I initially wished Curbee well, but it didn't take long for some things to spill out and you just wanted to not see him have success. I thank @TerryP for voicing his opinions very quickly and proving Kurbey's shenanigans. Living in Athens and being in a family full of Dawg fans, they think he's God, does it by the book, and is bringing them more titles than Saban. Kid you not. Safe to say the whole ordeal has soured family relationships because I call out their BS and they don't like it.

What happened to the guy that joined and gave all the insider info before the playoffs? Telling us Mack, Lewis and Miller would be playing and such. Guy seemed to know his stuff and kept providing updates even though folks were blasting and mocking him. Haven't seen his posts since the NC game.
Got thrown too much shade, unfortunately.
The day he claimed to have called one of the AL.com writers to confirm a story he was the butt of a few jokes. Considering the timeline and who he said he called his story fell apart. Zenitz, or however you spell his name, had already tweeted the "news" he was sharing and confirming. It was a joke.

What was funnier was the claim he knew Thompson's dad and they were really good friends but he didn't have a clue what was going on with DT when he was hurt in post-season practices.

Didn't he deserve "the shade?"
