🏀 Nate Oats on recruiting, and the first two losses of '19.

I'm way behind on anything Alabama basketball so someone please help me out. I think we have 13 scholarship players this season, only 1 recruit for 2020. Aside from our one recruit (#100) we don't appear to be in on any of the other top 100 recruits (not even being considered). Did we just miss the boat this year?

The team is full on the scholly limits. Bolden is a grad transfer/senior so technically there is no room for more than one signee. Now, that doesn't include the possibility of a guy like Kira moving on to the league after this season.

Two freshman have had knee surgery and J. Quinerly was not granted eligibility by the NCAA. So we are short three players.
With a ton of the rest of the guys banged up. How many guys could we call healthy? Five.

We are at 3-4 as of now with a game against a VERY good Stephen F Austin squad. 2 of the losses I totally understood. North Carolina and Iowa State, both of whom are always good. The other 2 losses made me scratch my head. But, given the circumstances, 3-4 may be nothing to be ashamed of. We could be 0-7. A win tonight gets us to .500 and boosts confidence. I still think that Oates is a far and away better hire than the last two and good things are ahead for the program. Just have to get through this tough transitional time.
