Apparently, in this strange new points system, "regular season points" (whatever that means) are available for those who finish in the top 10 of the Duel races. I guess that gives incentive to those who are already locked in their front row spots via qualifying to actually race.

Xfinity race was a wreck fest. The stages do add some intensity to different parts of the race. I may end up liking them. No idea on how the new points system works.

I could live with the stages themselves, but all of the points crap is stupid. There are like three different kind of points you can win.

But I'm pulling for Kyle Larson.

Actually would be happy for Jr if he wins.

Dark horse pick is Kasey Khane. Usually wrecks but looked good in duels and in race yesterday.

Would be cool if Fox used FS1 and covered the race with a different commentating crew. Larry Mac, Jeff Hammond, and someone like Adam Alexander. Would be a nice break from DW.

I've been watching the "Crank it Up" channel on Fox Sports GO, no commentary. Sadly, though, it doesn't show the running order and laps or I would watch it exclusively and turn the TV off.

Ya I believe that is actually Kurts first plate win (surprisingly.) Actually racing at the end was pretty good IMO. Tony seemed happy too.

Dale Jr. is retiring after this year. NASCAR is dead. The three most popular drivers have retired over the last three years: Dale Jr., Gordon, and Stewart (as well as Edwards). No one in NASCAR will admit it, everyone will say we have to get excited about the new generation, but I don't see people attaching to them like the guys I mentioned above.

It's on the decline, has been since the economic downturn and, I believe, the introduction of the common template. The old "what wins on Sundays sells on Mondays" hasn't applied for some time. Attendance is falling faster than they can pull out the seating. It's not helping that some of the mainstay stars are leaving, but I'm happy Dale Jr. is leaving before he gets killed or gets his eggs scrambled worse.

Agree with both of you. I think NASCAR unfortunately got what they wanted and that was equal cars. Only problem is equal cars put on a boring race. I watched the "Refuse to Lose" story where Ray Evernham documented their 97 Daytona 500 week, and he said he would try to get 10 things through inspection and would be happy if 5 made it. Even Jeff admitted if he ever asked Ray how inspection went and he said we made it first trip, they weren't going to be very fast. I think the teams and crews need a little more space to get creative and try and separate themselves from everyone else.
I will admit though, that I do like the new stages. I think it adds a twist to the race and adds some excitement. I don't think it will bring NASCAR back, but I think its one of the better moves they have done lately.

Anyone here have an idea where to get NASCAR things appraised? Or, any collectors here that may be able to give me a rough idea on something?
