NASCAR THREAD

Happy to see Smoke back though! I would love to see him win Sunday. I saw where he's starting Dega, but going to get out after so many laps. Kinda sucks, but I get it. No reason to test the back by doing barrel rolls in the big one.

Busch honoring Jarrett with Darlington paint scheme. MJ thoughts? Mixed emotions?

Beyond excited to see Smoke get the win at Sonoma!

Outstanding last lap. Hamlin had used up his brakes and/or his timing, wheel-hopped and hit Tony early in the lap and then I thought he was gone, but when he locked them up again in 11, no way Tony wasn't going to put that car where a true racer would. I don't even think Hamlin was mad about the contact. He knew he screwed up.

I cheered out loud for the first time since Martinsville last year. What a race and so happy for Smoke! I would love to see him leave as champion. Btw, go to Nascar.com and look for the video of the best of his press conference. It's hilarious!!

Rick Allen is the worst commentator NASCAR has had in a long time. I just about can't watch any races because of him. He says so many stupid things.

Ya hes not the best I've seen, but there have been worse. I know many people like him but Ken Squir killed me for years. I even wrote an email to CBS after a Daytona 500 citing how poor a commentator he was. Funny thing was he did prerace the next year and Mike Joy was in his roll. Guess I should have written sooner.

Ya. I'm pretty close to joining you. No Gordon, no smoke, bunch of BS. I'll probably watch tomorrow night just because there is nothing else to do.
Yeah, NASCAR is no longer appointment TV for me. I watch it because there isn't much else to watch this time of year except for basketball.

It makes me sad to have to be this way, I want to like it, but it's just ridiculous now. I wonder if NASCAR will even be around ten years from now given unsustainablity of this present decline it is in. I know it's crazy to think about that, but NASCAR is in far more dire straits than they will ever admit.

Totally agree! I actually think NASCAR knows it and this latest change is proof. They just won't admit it.
