This was the worst game trip experience I have ever had. First, I'm traveling solo Mobile to Jax and I have a tire blow-out in Tallahassee. After careening back and forth across I-10 a couple of times - I safely make it to the side of the road with a demolished tire, missing 1/2 a fender and badly shaken. After an hour and a half wait for roadside assistance - I'm back on the road on a dummy tire. The next am - I get screwed by Firestone and several hundred dollars later - I'm making my way to the game with my sister. We had a good time at the Landing but the game itself.....well,it was my worst experience ever and I have been attending games since 1977 and have done many an away game including Gainesville and Knoxville. The Nole fans were outright nasty and even the young Bama fans were completely obnoxious. Is everyone below the age of 30 just that different than we were? Every single sentence is prefaced with "F" this, "F" that even when small children were sitting near. We had a very old couple 4 seats down who begged the guy in front to sit down because he couldn't get up and down and was basically told to go get - yep, you guessed it - "F'd". Maybe it was the (non) neutral site, maybe not being with the good ole home crowd away from students, maybe the problem was everyone drinking all day and selling beer at the game, or maybe I am just old and less tolerant. And maybe I'm the only one, but timeouts on the field take forever compared to watching on TV. After this, I'm looking forward to watching the next game on my sofa! Oh - and the outcome certainly didn't help.

I wasn't going to say anything as I didn't want it to appear that I was a sore loser.

I had a terrible game experience. I don't know why in the world I thought FSU fans were classy. Where did I get that? ;scr I could tell right when I got in the area of the stadium that I was wrong. Just the way they acted, dressed, etc... And I agree on the language, Kanjweld. I'm sure it's probably just me, but I've never heard F-this, F-that, F-Alabama, F-Bama, F-Rammer Jammer, etc... as much as yesterday.

I had the pleasure of sitting by 2 of those type at the game and riding the water taxi back to the hotel with one as well. The thing is this girl was probably about 25 and farely attractive. The constant filth coming out of her mouth made her one of the ugliest people I've ever encountered. And as you said, she didn't care if children were around or not. When we got back to the hotel her husband wanted to hold the elevator for me (he was an Alabama guy and very nice). I told him no that I'd had quite enough of his wife - she was all his!

The people around me had two FSU fans removed from our section because of their behavior and language. I thought the cops were very aggressive and didn't put up with a lot of crap.

To top it all off I had a loud mouth behind me that didn't care so much to cheer for FSU as to mock and make fun of our players. He cussed them and called them names all night. A grown adult doing this to opposing kids out there playing their hearts out. I had enough and told him to please enjoy cheering for his team (which he wasn't doing but I was trying to respond in a classy way), but to please leave our kids out of it. They're just kids. He responded with more trash talk and said "darling, I'm gonna keep it coming" basically just for me.

I had taken the high road and then got that response. I then told him again that there is no reason to call kids names and to try to act with class. 1st of all I can't believe a grown adult acting that way and 2nd I can't believe a man treating a woman like that especially in the "way" I requested him to stop. It was all mind boggling to me.

I tell you, I have new perception of FSU fans and it's not good. I did not have ONE (not one!) fan tell me great game, enjoy your trip, have a safe trip, etc... Even in the highly competitive rivalries in the SEC we still have common decency. Not in Nole land though. :?

That must be the reason they're called Semiholes.

You know I almost ask my nephew to get me tickets. He being in the Navy I knew he could get them. But after reading what you all with thought. I may had lost my christian way.

You must have been sitting near me. There were several FSU fans escorted out of the Touchdown Club area on the West Side (FSU side). There were quite a few Bama fans over there but the FSU fans were rowdy and terrible. Many of them came in drunk and it only got worse. The language was horrible. Several moms were asking these people (many times grown men and women) to please watch what they say and they just laughed. I have to agree, this was not a very good trip (drove 10.5 hours Friday and 10.5 as soon as the game ended), but the outcome could have really changed my perception.

Just for an opposite view :?

We tailgated with some FSU folks that were extremely nice and enjoyable. I did run into one Nolehole coming out of the stadium but that happens at every game. :? He gave me the usual Bama sucks *&@*@ which I basically agreed with but then he had to throw in a WAR EAGLE

The Landing Friday night was NEXT LEVEL!! That place was rocking and packed 8) Found the FSU people here fun as well.

on a side note HOW IN THE HELLO DID JAX host a Super Bowl ?

We had a few tell us good game and ignore the other fans... We were waiting on a friend that was on the other side of the stadium... As we waited, two young dudes came up and started calling us prom dates (get it?) and asked us if we liked their d#@k's in our mouths. I looked to the older guy that was with them, he looked about 54, he looked right at me and asked if I liked that doggystyle we just got. Not long after that, many FSU fans saw us and could tell how angry we were getting and they came over and started to talk to the asshole fans while more FSU fans came over to tell us how much they liked 'Bama fans. They said that they didn't encounter ONE bad 'Bama fan.

There were other times... He'll, Shire5k's brother actually saw FSU fans fighting FSU fans! Good grief.

what section were you in? you might be talking about me. i told an old guy in no certain words that i wasnt sitting down for him or no one else. good stuff. i paid the same amount for my ticket as him. once i check securtiy i found i was in the right. dont want someone standing up...stay home. roll tide.

Getting drunk FSU fans to chant "CRIMNOLES CRIMINOLES" is pretty funny.

Other than that...it was a bad experience as far as the game goes. I don't think I've ever wanted to punch someone in the throat as bad as I wanted to do it to those two guys.

On the outside I didn't. On the inside God knows I lost it bad.

I always ask myself that as an adult is what I'm about to say going to be something that I won't be proud of later. If I can't act and speak with class then I don't need to be acting or speaking. :)

That is a very tough road sometimes and certainly was on Saturday. It's tough to lose but even tougher to take the high road afterwards especially with all the language and unnecessary comments.

Oh Kanjweld, I'm sorry about your trip. I hate that all had to happen to make it worse.

We had pleasant pre-game interaction with the Nole fan base. But once the beer started flowing and they won their true side showed.

I was walking alone with my wife to the parking lot (Z) where we were harassed by about a dozen AHoles fans. The ones that couldnt get tix so they tailgated. They followed us for a bit shouting obscene things and making vulgar gestures. Only time after a game I have feared for my safety. I was actually not having too bad of a time (minus the loss) until then. Ruined the whole day for me.

Yeah it was an unpleasant experience for me, too. The flight out was great (all BAMA fans), our hotel was great (mostly BAMA fans). Although our neighbors in the hotel were an older couple who were FSU fans. They were actually really nice. But that's about where it stopped. In my section (437) there were two FSU fans who just kept running their mouths. Screaming F bombs and all of that. They were really drunk and being obnoxious (surprise, surprise). After a while, a BAMA fan (also drunk) had enough and started yelling at one of the guys. I thought there was gonna be a fight right there. Finally, somebody went to get security and I think they made one of the guys leave because I never saw him again. It was getting ridiculous. Then after the game it just got insane. Their whole tomahawk chop lasted FOREVER and I had one guy say something to me (still not sure what it was). I just looked at him with scowling eyes and shrugged my shoulders and kept walking. Then leaving the parking lot! OH my gosh. You know how you are in a line and someone will let a car in from the left, then the car behind them will let out a car from the right, etc. Well, there was this truck (FSU fan) who was trying his best not to let us out. But my dad kept inching out there because it was our turn to go... A car had just let out the vehicle in front of him (on the other side) and the car behind that car was letting us out. Well, the guy in the truck just pulled right on out there and almost hit us trying to keep us from going. It was CRAZY! He almost hit us. My dad said, "Hey, I'm in a rental car. If he wants to mess up his bumpter, then that's fine with me. This car is insured..." haha We got out without a scratch, but maaan. FSU fans (as all fans in the state of Florida SEEM to be) are really obnoxious and rude. I really have no desire to go to any game against a Florida team ever again. It was a terrible experience.

No problems here. Tailgate 1 was in the middle of a whole bunch of younger FSU fans. Nobody said anything to us, and we even took some pictures for the people tailgating next to us. They came over and talked a little, FSU fans. And then some other Bama fans just walking by stopped and said hello.
We then went from lot H, on the river, to Tailgter's somthing, over on the East side where its nothing but reserver tailgate sports. Tons of FSU fans, nobody said anything. Oh except the guy holding up the "Bama Fans love Patrick Swayze" sign. I got it by the way! Anyway, tailgate 2 was at that lot, with FSU alums and fans. No problem there. Walked to the stadium and back, no issues. Hung around a few FSU tailgates to watch their TVs, no problems. Tailgated after the game, no problms. There was a fight in the stands about 10 rows in front of us. FSU and Bama fan were both tossed. Besides that, just back and forth chatter, or how are you, where are you from and why do we carry shakers (pom-poms they asked). Thats about it. The game was the letdown. Should have stayed at the tailgate where we were rocking it.
