...that's Dan Mullen, the offensive coordinator for Florida this season.
Their sportswriter is tracking planes with flightaware.com and says the plane from Gainesville is set to land in Starkville this afternoon...no word when he's going to be announced.

Does he coach the NC? Or start putting together a staff and hit the recruiting trail?
I don't think it will matter either way. Meyer is the brain behind UF's spread, so they aren't going to be hurting in the bowl game.
On the other side, Mullen is going to have his work cut out for him just keeping the the players Croom was able to receive verbals from.
As for the hire, I don't quite understand it. Croom has built a smash-mouth type team at MSU. They have the personnel for a power-run / ball control offense. Now they are switching to the spread?
This idea of having to move fast to 'save this recruiting class' has always confused me.
Yes, one recruiting class can be important - critical even, see our class from last year.
But, the right hire can result in a coach being at your school for ten-to-fifteen-to-twenty years. It is always better to take your time, even if you void one year of prospects, if necessary to hire the right guy for the long haul.
Now, taking your time and losing a year of recruits and THEN hiring the wrong guy... Oh, brother.
FWIW, most of the recruits are staying committed till they talk with the new authority or know where they stand. I think they lost a pretty high WR to Ole Miss, but that seems to be the only one I remember defecting...
Rumors are going crazy about the OC he wants to hire...
