📽 /🎵 Movies or TV Part2/Remake

I have watched the remake of 5-0 and the only thing I took away from it was Grace Park is hot. As is Michelle Borth. I watched an episode of two of the new MacGyver and it just wasn't up to the task of the old series. The movies? No.

A remake of a TV series? Give me a Barney Miller with Cheers writing.

A movie? I don't like remakes of movies. Once the story has been told...BUT, if I were to choose one. Maybe Planes, Trains, and Automobiles with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Anniston.

Here's the problem, with movies. Take Silverado as example. You can't replace Danny Glover in that role. Or Kevin Costner for that matter. It just doesn't work.

I agree with @TerryP about remakes of movies and tv programs. I really like Barney Miller and still watch reruns sometimes. A movie I really liked and the spin off tv program I still watch is In The Heat Of The Night. Remakes of either or both of these would get my attention. But to replace iconic actors into new programs? I don't think you can replace Sydney Poitier or Carroll O'Connor and expect the same quality. Which actors could pull off those rolls?

I didn't know there is a remake of Perry Mason. I enjoy watching the old b/w episodes. That was a program my family watched way back when. I was too young to know what was going on or to remember any of the episodes. I think I could use a cigarette.
I'm not asking about the few remake of the show. But the one HBO did before Perry became a lawyer. I think it laster for two seasons.

You talking about the on on HBO? Right?

Have not watched it, was not aware of it. I don't get any movie channels, hardly ever watched when I had movie channels.
Two seasons. HBO canceled the series. The series is probably available on over a half of a dozen services now.

I get what you are saying. A lot of what I watch is pirated. I'm okay with the idea of subscribing to a service for a month to catch up on a series and then canceling. Showtime fits that bill pretty soon.

Almost posted this earlier... With Seth MacFarlane involved, I'm all in and hope it follows in the footsteps of the original(s) while also leaving some carnage in its wake that we haven't seen since Ricky Gervais hosted the Golden Globes.
I really like the way the sons of the original policemen kneel before their dads in the highlight. When I got to OJ, the man just shrugged his head.

I've seen a few clips of Liam "doing dead pan humor." He's quite good. This one is with Gervais.
