🏈 More on Bama's winning streak versus unranked opponents.

Streaks are made to be broken or so they say but there are two streaks that may stand the test of time. That's this 88 game streak and CNS being ranked #1 at least one week of the year in 12 straight years. The later being set in concrete.

I love this stat because it's one of those that leaves opponents fans twisting in the wind.

I know you've seen "Bama's schedule" mentioned 100X this season. When you counter that with the record against ranked teams and how many Bama has played inevitably you see "how many of those were in the SECCG or bowls or playoffs?"

You want to see a rival fan squirm? Show them where they've lost 10X more games than Alabama has to unranked opponents over the last decade and just sit back and watch.

Some streaks I would to see alabama attain. are.....
.....3 NCs in a row....in modern era
.....break Oklahomas 42 game winning streak.....
.....break fsu s consecutive years intop 5 at end of season....
@TerryP ....this would really make other fans recognize bama as the greatest cf program.....
I doubt bama can get to total wins.....(the forfeits will see to that)...

.....break Oklahomas 42 game winning streak.....
To me, that's one of the most overblown "bragging rights" I've seen with college football. That streak of theirs fits with this thread in wins over unranked opponents (and in their case teams with losing seasons.)

This one as well considering all programs didn't start at the same time, they didn't play the same number of games as each other, and so on. If I recall correctly Michigan started playing football 13 years before Bama fielded a team. I think Michigan played 12 games the year Alabama started their program (it's been a long time since I've looked) while Alabama's first 12 game season was in 1970?

I have no idea what the current count is in all time wins.

Wel....we brag about bowls and bowl wins....but big 10 was only doing 1bowls a season.....
I dont care who you play....42 in a row is still impressive.....hats off to Sooners...

47 game winning streak. No one is going to beat that record because no one is going to play 47 games and face only 18 teams with a winning record. Not even Clemson, and certainly not Bama. To top it off, three of those 18 teams finished with a 5-4-1 record.

Being in Acc clemson might face less 18 teams with winning records....to break 47 game win streak

Clemson has faced 36 FBS teams that finished with a winning record in their last 47 games. Immaterial whether the FCS teams had a winning record or not. FWIW, Bama has faced 32 with a winning record.

Edit: Through 2018.

About all that can realistically be said about the OU record is that no other team has ever done so much against so little.

OMG! Just noticed something in the 1956 OU season. They beat the 2-8 team that had the Heisman winner  40-0 the week before they played the ONLY team with a winning record they faced that year.
