I learned one had better think twice before betting against a team with 5 wins playing to become Bowl eligible. Especially if the opponent has only 6 or 7 wins and has nothing to play for. Lost on favorite 7-4 UCLA who went through the motions against 5-6 Cal who kicked their butt. At UCLA. There were probably others.
