| NEWS Missouri State HC Bobby Petrino has been hired as Texas A&M's offensive coordinator

Don't think Jimbo cares at this point about how his program iv viewed... so with that aside.... it's a good move, IMO.
JImbo's criticism's have been of his offensive style/play calling. His critics label it as a system that worked up until we saw college football spread out and its pace quickened.

Petrino's success was found in his offensive style in the same period Jimbo's style of offense was successful. It was unique and difficult for some teams to prepare for—like seeing a defense prepare to face a triple option attack. His offense isn't unique in today's game. He'll have better athletes, no doubt.

Out with the old, in with the well worn.

It's a good move as opposed to the alternative, which was Jimbo still calling plays from his crumpled papers. May not be great, and could certainly blow up on him... but his current path had reached its dead end.

He is making a joke about Iowa's OC Brian Ferentz (who is coincidently the HC's son). He is known for being notoriously God awful at play calling.

Brian Ferentz makes Dave Rader look like Bill Walsh.
A close parallel happened at FSU when B Bowden's son was the OC, Jeff? Color man on radio broadcast and former FSU QB was let go because he rightly criticized the game plans and calls.
