Brandon Miller is having an elite season for Alabama basketball. That's no secret. Anyone watching the Crimson Tide play can tell. More numbers will emerge through the next few weeks to show how historic and impressive a season he is having, but one already dropped Saturday.

Miller has surpassed the 500-point mark in his freshman season. He did so with a 21-point effort in the 108-59 win over Georgia at Coleman Coliseum.

He is only the third freshman in program history to reach that mark, following Colin Sexton and James 'Hollywood' Robinson. But Miller did it faster.

Miller has scored 500 or more points in 27 games. Sexton did it in 28 games. Robinson reached it in 30.

'That was an impressive stat,' Alabama coach Nate Oats said. 'We had some history made tonight.'

Miller had 485 points before the game Saturday. Now, he's up to 506.

He finished 7-for-10 from the field, 3-for-5 from deep and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in about 20 minutes of play for No. 1 Alabama (23-4, 13-1 SEC).

'It’s honestly crazy, especially with the team we have, with how skilled we are and how deep we are,' teammate Nick Pringle said of the history Miller made. 'Five hundred points already: I don’t think you can have a better freshman year than this. He’s great for us man. We all love him.'

Miller only has one game all season in which he hasn't reached double digits. He scored only eight points in the win over Houston on Dec. 10.

Oats pointed to that consistency as the source of Miller reaching 500 points this fast.

'He’s got all kinds of different ways to score,' Oats said. 'You can try to take him out, you can do a really good job on him, he still ends up with 13, 15, 16 on a great defensive night from the opponent.'
