They should be 7-1 (UF) and no worse than 6-2 (UGA & UF) coming to Tuscaloosa. A good butt whipping in T'town could really cause the wheels to come off meaning losses to Ole Miss and the Hogs also. Couldn't happen to a better bunch!
If the hand is writing on the wall, I'm reading a question that asks "Who will be LSU's next Head Coach?"
Irony upon irony is that should Miles be fired, the LSU fans will have Saban-bashed themselves out of any chance that they would have of luring him back...which surely would be a thought at some point. (That contract extension now looks like a good strategic move.)
But last Saturday’s debut was hardly greeted with rave reviews by LSU fans. In a lot of ways, it’s what they grew accustomed to last season when the Tigers allowed more than 30 points in their last three regular-season games. They were also torched for 50-plus in losses to Florida and Georgia.
Let's not forget LSU's 2007 season either. That two-loss national championship team gave up 43 points to Kentucky, 34 points to Alabama, and 50 points to Arkansas. Not to mention 24 points to Florida, Auburn, and Ole Miss, each.
They deserved playing for the national championship about as much as Ohio State deserved playing for it. :lance:
I'll say this though. The only way it might happen is if Larry Smith has an All-American performance. He had a decent weekend against W. Carolina (and that has to be taken into account) but for him to have that all-star type performance he's going to have to put up 2x the amount of yards he threw for last weekend (just over 150.)
Washington did have some success against the LSU back seven last weekend.
