I did a quick search and there are several articles over the first 5-7 years saying they were bleeding money. Viewership is hard to pin down because the articles state how many āpotentialā viewers could watch it (ie, their cable system has it available in their geography, not how many actually subscribe). Apparently the cable systems restrict access to areas covered by the Big12. The network charges the cable system $0.29 per subscriber. The only Texas football games they have access to are the equivalent of Alabama playing Mercer.
