🏈 Miami's worst nightmare

Isn't it odd that Dolphin owner, Wayne Huizenga, seems to harbor no ill will toward Saban? The Miami media (and the Dolphins fans) should take a lesson from Huizenga.

And, we have really been hurting in recruiting since we are no longer allowed at St. Thomas Aquinas HS in South Florida. I hope we get back in there soon...... :D

I knew the tone of this article as soon as I got to this paragraph...

Vilified for walking out on the Dolphins in 2006 and helping turn a once-proud franchise into the laughingstock of the NFL, Saban has achieved greatness at the University of Alabama. His Crimson Tide are 12-0 and ranked No. 1 in the country by The Associated Press.

Of course, no need for this writer to include the fact the year before he got there, Wannstedt coached them to a 1-8 start, he was fired, and they finished the season with 4 wins.

I've laughed at the thought for weeks about Saban returning to Miami. If he walks out with the Crystal, it is really going to start a few firestorms on keyboards with some writers furiously trying to release their anger at being so wrong.

They were mad when he left. Mad at our fast start last year. Happy when we fell apart. Mad at our recruiting class. Mad at our fast start this year. Mad at our continued success. Mad at our chance to play for the big one. And REALLY mad it's in Miami. They stay mad at Saban, and should get over it. Dan Lebe(re)tard's hate has even rubbed off on the PTI guys, who I'm starting to dislike.

Let's face it, Miami is still upset over the '93 Championship Game beatdown the Tide gave them. I believe in my heart of hearts that if Saban left the dolphins for any other school, this would never have been an issue.

I don't agree. More to do with Saban, coach of Dolphins leaving for college team where their best coach of all time's son was just fired. They will never accept that Saban had nothing to do with the firing and he was only doing what was best for him and his family.

Who cares what the media was and apparently still is mad about.

If I were Coach Saban, I would have been mad about how they hounded him and prodded him and put him into an inquisition situation demanding that he answer them and answer them now every single day. These virulent and angry demands were hurled at him every day, day after day after day, for weeks and weeks. They were trying to mentally exhaust him and purposely harass him.

I suppose you believe they have a right to be mad. If someone doesn't want to tell the private details of his employment situation it just won't stand.

I know that the media is legally entitled to answers and immediate responses to any question they ask, but that doesn't mean everyone has to play along.

I suppose it doesn't really matter that at the time he said that he was not going to Alabama, he really didn't believe he was, that is just background noise.

Bruce Feldman of ESPN summed it up quite nicely here:

"I can't think of a coach who the media would love to see fail more than Saban," Feldman wrote.

He went on to say this:

"We, the media, are a pretty vindictive lot," Feldman said.

And lastly:

According to Feldman, even a solid record at Alabama won't faze many in the national media who already have their knives out, just waiting for an opening, any opening.

I couldn't care less what they think. If he was losing ball games they would have no problem turning their backs on him at the drop of a hat. He left. So what. Dolphin fans and LSU fans (while I'm at it) need to seriously let it go!

That is not my interpretation of their rights. They have a right to report but you have a right as to what you tell them. Of course it is in your best interest to be truthful, but you can do that and not say anything. Anyway most state's open record laws allow them to request documents from state funded entities but it is up to them to request this information. I am not aware of laws that require you to answer their questions.

I think if you lie to them it is the same as lying to the police. You can be charged with a crime of some sort.
