🏈 Miami fires Shannon

Florida State is methodically slipping into the position of the state powerhouse.....their recruiting will soon trump Florida and Miami.....Miami has hit the panic button ( rightfully so ) and will be looking for a "Malzhan " IMO.

I agree with you but living just a couple of miles away from another FL school quietly sliding into relevence I have to say keep an eye on UCF. This school is the largest in FL in terms of enrollment, has been spending big bucks on everything from athletics (UCF has the only indoor practice facility in the state) to student parking garages. UCF wants to be big time in a bad way. IF George O'Leary wins the conference and a bowl this year, he is doing his part to making that happen. One problem though is in big name recruits. People think he let Jeff Driskoll (Hagerty HS one mile away from Brighthouse Stadium) slip through his fingers. I think with FL and Miami's down year, UCF will do a lot better in recruits. I guess all I am saying is keep an eye on UCF. Especially if they go to the Big East...

It was a good decision to get ready of Shannon. This program is not progressing at all. I didn't think it was a good decision to replace Coker with such an unknown quantity anyway. Miami is in too deep of a talent pool to even lose 3 times per year. Losing to Virginia this year set the ball in motion, and finishing out with a whimper against South Florida was the straw that broke the camels back. I hope they go after Mullin, but I'd be going after a pro guy. John Gruden anyone?

This is a big hire for Miami. A bad hire and three more years of weak performances and Miami will have lost all relavance and respect (read fear). Mike Leach could make some noise there indeed. Miami being a private school actually helps ease some of the concerns about Leach's legal issues.
