Exams are over, and Coach Grant's Tiders resome action. There are four games left before conference play starts, and the schedule will be challenging.

Next up will be Kansas State in Kansas City tomorrow at 8:00. ESPNU will provdie TV coverage.

We take on Oklahoma State in Birmingham on 12/21.

Jacksonville (Dolphins) vists T'Town on 12/29

We take on Georgia Tech in Atlanta on 1/03.

Conference play begins at Georgia on 1/07.

This team is absolutely horrible offensively. I thought it might just be some bad games, but it's becoming more and more obvious that we are just plain bad in the half court. This is brutal to watch.

The only saving grace is the SEC is pretty much like Bama, except for Kentucky. A league full of athletes who can't play basketball. Bama should be fine once they get into league play. They still aren't very good. But they'll win some games in the SEC.

One thing to remember: this is a very inexperienced team.

Green = 3 year starter

Mitchell = 2 year starter

Releford = 1 year starter.

Eblen = 2 year role player.

Engstrom = lightly used sophomore

Hankerson + played a little as a freshman

Lacey, Randolph, Jacobs, Cooper are true freshmen.

Our frosh are very talented, and they have all had good moments and bad moments. They should get more consistent as the season goes along, but we haven't seen the last of the uh ohs.

People used to use this against Gottfried all the time. But damn, I don't ever remember seeing one of his team be this bad on offense.

For the most part, yeah they were. Add to that they didn't play defense, and a severe lack of hustle. At lease this team is usually fun to watch on defense and the way they hustle.

Kentucky starts three freshmen and two sophomores. The best teams in the nation will win with freshmen and sophomores from here on out. The best players go pro by then. If you have juniors and seniors that are still in college, they aren't elite players.

We need a shooter. These guys are awful. It doesn't matter what grade they're in, they're terrible.

If you are Calipari you can recruit "one and done" types, we can't abd I'm not sure we'd want to if we could.

As far as shooters, go back and lool at Lacey and Cooper video from high school. They haven't settled in to the college level yet, they will be fine.

Just how werll did all those future first rounders do a week or so back at Indiana? Indiana has less talent than we do, but they controlled that game.

All good points and well taken, fine sir. Another thought though. I've seen all those Kentucky freshmen shooting lights out already this year. I haven't seen Bama's hit squat from the outside. We don't have a pure shooter. I will give you this. If Lacey had the green light to fire a shot up each time down the floor, he might show something. I'm wondering if he is completely healthy yet.

One and done's are not my cup of tea either, but that seems to be what wins in today's collegiate game. I think we have to settle for someday possibly making it to the Great Eight. It's why Bama is a football school.
