Baylor has hired three-time national champion coach Mike McGraw to lead the men's golf program, Director of Athletics Ian McCaw announced Monday. McGraw joins the program after spending one season as assistant coach at Alabama, where he helped lead the Crimson Tide to the 2014 national championship title.
Prior to joining the Alabama staff, McGraw was head coach at Oklahoma State for eight seasons, where he led the Cowboys to a national title in 2006 and a national runner-up finish in 2010. He was an assistant coach at OSU when the Cowboys won the 2000 national title.
"I am very excited for Mike," Alabama head coach Jay Seawell said. "He did a great job coaching this year and was a tremendous asset for our program. He also got back to the love of the game and the love of teaching. I am glad he is getting another opportunity to lead a team, and Baylor is a great place for Mike and his wife Pam to build a program."
