I think it's great. I don't see why a defensive player couldn't win the heisman.........It's begun to be a quarterback club exclusively.

i think, by deffinition of the heisman, mcclain is very much a candidate.. he is a crucial factor for alabama's success. he also steps up in big games with big plays.. not to mention 2 interceptions in 6 games for an inside linebacker..

i say let him run the ball in the redzone and push this thing through..

although mcclain is very deserving, ingram might be a big time candidate next year.. our offense will only be better, and he is getting a lot of recognition this year.. his numbers are off the charts.. the receptions really set him apart from other running backs..

i would vote for mcclain hands down.. he might be my favorite bama player ever.. and i can remember watching the bear bryant show with my father..

if you go by the true definition of what a Heisman Trophy Winner is supposed to be, yes. It's supposed to be the best player in the game, the single best player. I think Ro is the best Linebacker in the nation, period, probably the best defensive player. But at this point it's who the media loves and who scores the most TD's and throws for the most yards.

If there is a defense player out there that would win the heisman, I would probably have to say it would go to Eric Berry or McClain. Way to close to tell though they are both superb players.
