🏈 Matt Hayes hatin' again

"Meanwhile, Ohio State plays Michigan State, Oklahoma State plays Baylor, Oklahoma plays TCU, and Clemson (Wake Forest) and Iowa (Purdue) play lower-tier conference opponents."

Yeah and Meanwhile when Alabama played on the road @ #17 Mississippi State last week, Ohio State played Illinois, Michigan State played Maryland, Oklahoma State played Iowa State, Clemson played Syracuse, Iowa played Minnesota, and Oklahoma played Baylor.

What a sad, pathetic excuse. I sort of wish the barn wasn't this steaming piling of hot garbage that they are right, just so it would add another good W on an already impressive schedule. It's just hilarious for these kind of writers to pick apart Alabama's schedule right now when earlier in the year, all the teams he listed were playing no one.

I hate that we're playing an FCS opponent, I'd prefer we play FBS opponents only.

My opinion, Saban was sending a message to the team about not overlooking Charleston Southern. Trying to keep the guys motivated and probably sending a similar message to the media. Deflecting criticism, perhaps he was, but I suspect that was the last thing on his mind. He needs to keep the team hungry, we have 5 more games.

Saban is 10 steps in front of this guy, he's just not smart enough to realize it.

Excuse me, but Ohio St played Northern Illinois and Western Michigan this year. Not to mention the fact that they normally schedule either youngstown st or ohio university. Mich St also played Western Mich and Central Mich. These sports writers are idiots. Every school plays at least one cupcake. It's the nature of college football. What a tool.

While I hate that we play these games also, until these jackoffs write the same article early in the season about the other "powers," they can suck it.

Or we can just start the season with a cupcake like all those teams he lists aside from Ohio State and ND. No one ever brings up that point! Yes, we should not be playing FCS teams, but really why the F*** does it matter when it is. Hell, I've been waiting since the first week in September to see OSU play a decent opponent worthy of TV time and the same for all the Big12 schools (other than OU at Tenn). So these schools get to take 7-10 weeks off but Alabama is the one under the microscope just because it comes now. What will OKst, OK, Baylor, TCU, ND be doing when Alabama is playing their 13th game of the season V UF - oh, that's right, NOTHING, they will either have the week off or they are off (mind you their 2nd open date) next week while Alabama is playing Auburn.

This criticism is beyond hilarious to me. I dont see this same level of criticism in early season when Bama is playing teams like Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Penn State, etc. while the FSUs and Ohio Stats of the words are playing FCS schools. Bama plays LSU, Mississippi State, and Auburn every year late yet somehow the one game on the schedule that is against an FCS gets criticized? Absolutely a joke.

Blah, blah, blah...

I have listened to it all week from differing talking heads and they are justifying their disdain by saying, "it's ok to play a Charleston Southern in September but not late November". Never mind that Alabama opened with Wisconsin while...

1 Clemson played Wofford
3 OSU played VT, Hawaii, NIU and W Mich to open the season
5 Iowa played Illinois St.
6 OkSt played Central Michigan
7 Oklahoma played Akron
8 Florida played New Mexico St
9 Michigan St played Western Michigan
10 Baylor played SMU

The Big12 intentionally back loaded their schedule as did the B1G (crickets).

The only team I would even give credit for having a "tough" schedule before the season was Notre Dame. Who knew after playing Texas, USC, etc that Navy would be its biggest win to date?

They also criticize the SEC for using these teams as an extra bye week while defending the Big 12. The Big 12 already gets an extra bye week due to no CCG!

So the Big 12 loads the front of the schedule with cupcakes so the top big 12 teams are all 8-0 and highly ranked going into November, they get an extra bye, then whoever emerges from their big four looks good to the media for beating a bunch of highly ranked teams late, then they have no CCG to get through!

The Big 12 should be getting criticized by the media, not the SEC!

They should pass a rule that only CCGs can be played Championship week to do away with those extra byes and getting their guys late Heisman and CFP exposure from a regular game.

Just throwing this out there ...

Last year the Big12 had three bye weeks, the SEC had two. How well did that work out for the Big12?

I suspect it's taken into consideration.

BTW ... something I've been looking for the last few days and haven't seen much? Articles and commentary on the SECCG, the current #2 team in the playoff rankings, those possible playoff opponents, and the word "Alabama."

I've heard nothing but Charleston Southern the last few days.

This past week had a "speech" by Saban, including a little salty language, and here we are ... ( if you recall, it isn't the first time he's done something like this. Wasn't it a Mississippi State game a few years ago? Crowd participation, maybe?)

I see very, very little attention to what's happening with the team, what's going on within the fences of Thomas-Drew ...

Coincidence?
