| FTBL Marshall University/Tuscaloosa connections

I watched We Are Marshall again tonight and actually paused the movie when it came to the player roster for 1970.

I was a little taken aback that 4 of the players were from Tuscaloosa, AL. Further checking showed that they were all black players who attended Druid High.

I thought that was pretty interesting that Marshall University apparently had a pipeline into Tuscaloosa in the late 60's for black players. I also noticed in the movie that the young QB was from Alabama and recommended by Coach Bryant.

As I was only 4 months old at the time of the crash, I had never really paid that much attention to the story. I thought the connection was pretty unique.

I really want to see that movie and never get the chance. I will certainly look for that when I am watching.

It's a pretty good movie actually. I also like how Bobby Bowden was at West Virginia at the time. I didn't know he let Marshall(their Rival) come in and scout their offense for the use of it. Overall a pretty good movie.
