Take a look at his stats vs' winning teams and non winning teams, also AP ranked teams and unranked teams.

I can't find the actual number, but I am certain that Tate has coughed the ball up more than Ingram.

Tate is an excellent back. Period. That said...

Ingram averages 125.5 ypg on 19.1 cpg with 8 TDs
Tate = 118.6 ypg on 21.5 cpg with 6 TDs

Ingram 186 yards receiving with 3 TDs
Tate = 67 yards 0 TDs.

Tate is good but if you look at his numbers, you'll see that he has had around 30+ more carries than Mark. Saturday was a good example of Tate's season. He finished with 24 carries and 144 yards. One run accounted for 53 yards. Without that run and several others that he has had along the way, he hasn't cracked the 800 yard mark. Ole Piss took terrible pursuit angles on the long run. Meanwhile, Mr. Ingram drives along getting 7-8 yards a whack with the occasional 20+ yard run. Mark is the BEAST in the SEC.
