🏈 Manziel suspended for 1st half of game vs. Rice

so half a game....i guess he was more guilty than cam. what a joke the ncaa is. if you are a star you can get away whatever.

That's the only parallel I can draw with this situation. Newton skated, and now Manziel is doing same. We should've stopped Cam's magical season, let's just plan on ruining the Money Badger's season at game two.

Using an old adage about the elephant in the room no one is talking about...

I leave this story with one question. Why aren't the memorabilia dealers talking to the NCAA?

Oh, I get it. They don't want their future business hurt. But wait a minute!

IF Manziel didn't receive any money for his signatures and he didn't know that they were going to sell those items why won't these same guys talk to the NCAA? How is it going to hurt their business if they are telling the NCAA "he didn't get any money and he didn't know I was planning on selling the merchandise?"

That position would be standing squarely behind Johnny—the epitome of having his back. In a world where there are so many conversations about people talking advantage of athletes we'd have a situation where these dealers would be looking out for Manziel's best interest, right? What player wouldn't want that kind of relationship?

The NCAA officially has no teeth! They were all kicked out when they botched with $cam, kissed Oregon on the wrist, and then fumbled with Miami. They don't have a set of family jewels anymore!!

It will be interesting to see if this distraction will have any effect on the teams performance. The popular belief seems to be that A&M will not be at the level they were last year.......atleast from what Ive seen and read. Its obvious he violated rules to anyone with half a brain.....maybe some of his teammates don't care for that too much.

How much Texas Oil money did it take to make this happen?

What I find interesting is that apparently the Manziels retained the same law firm that represented $cam Newton. You look at how hard Penn State was hit (did that situation even involve NCAA rules?), Miami having to deal with not knowing for years (still don't know on some counts, I believe), how hard we've been hit, USC, AJ Green, Ohio State, etc.... Seems like the common denominator (aside from Oregon) is this law firm.

I still haven't figured that out, unless they used the dreaded "lack of institutional control" but even then how do you take wins away? How did Sandusky abusing kids give Penn State some form of competitive advantage to take away their wins? It makes no sense.

Something is seriously amiss with the NCAA; it is becoming a farce. Some schools get completely raked over the coals and other schools completely skate. Not right.
