Duder while I agree with your sentiments....the only thing that makes this a difficult decision is what do you guys have coming back next year.
Malzahn's stock will get no higher than what it is right now. I see a similarity of Malzahn/Newton as we did with Meyer/Tebow. Auburn loses a ton of experience on the O-line. That will be killer to replace and it may take several years before Gus has a stellar year again. Nonetheless, I think good things come to those who wait. Look at Muschamp. He has been talked about as being an HC since his days at AU. His patience paid big dividends, and I would imagine that Gus can do the same.
It is a safe bet that in a few years Ole Miss will come open, and who knows what else.
