🏀 M. Basketball. Men's Basketball Falls to LSU in SEC Tournament Second Round, 68-56

Bubble team next year at best.

I don't know about that. I think with a little easier schedule (but more respectful for the committee to look at and see we're worthy of a tourn.) and better depth, we should be a fairly competitive team. Yes, we do lose Releford; however, we gain Ricky Tarant. He may not be able to drive the lane as good as Releford, or be as good of a leader, but he is a very talented PG and will be a contributor next year. Also add the fact that the recruiting class will be coming in, lead by Justin Coleman, and followed by Riley Norris and Devin Mitchel. All had a very successful career around the perimeter.

Randolph progressed as the season went on. Hale became a monster freshman and is only getting better. Then we go inside, look at the depth. If Jacobs decides to come back, we will have Engstrom, Jimmie Taylor (another freshman that did well), Michael Kessens (transfer), and Jacobs inside. That's pretty good and we may not get beat on the backboard as much.

I won't lie, I wanted Grant fired in the middle of the season, but other than last night, I'm seeing some changes in the past few games that may look good for the future.

At the end of last season, did each of us think Lacey would be better? Pollard was improving, no? All the names you mentioned, MIGHT be here next year. Then again, they might not. 2010. Remember that class. Wow. It was a doozy. How many played last night. I'll give you a hint: half of them.

Next season: Bubble team at best.

It was a strange season. I thought Jacobs was about to become a real force in the post. Instead, he played well sporadically, was non existent most of the time. He had disappeared even before he took his leave of absence. I am not sure we want him back. We may be better off just using Taylor and Engstrom at the five.

I like what Randolph gave us the last month of the season, but he spent two thirds of the season playing timidly on offense. He needs to be looking for his shot from day one. I would like for us to run plays for him and Hale much like what Ole Miss does with Henderson. Offe nse has been a problem for us the last two seasons. Especially with Tre or gone, we need to change what we do on offense or run our offense a lot better.
