Still confused about the symbolic nature of what all this means? Is Alleva getting canned because he suspended Wade or reinstated Wade? So Cajuns have an E-mail long ago From BOS leader King telling Alleva to specifically suspend him. Which Alleva promptly did. Now Wade's reinstated and he's gone with Canjuns swearing up and down it was for the original Wade suspension.

How? When the Godfather (King) ordered it? If Alleva was technically fired for the Wade suspension in the first place than King is in a world of trouble with the BOS as well, right?

I'd have to guess it was the sum of the whole that got Alleva, including tenure.
You may recall ... a few weeks ago it was mentioned there were some dealings with Our Lady of the Lake and LSU that were exposed in the embezzlement case. Two were reported to the NCAA, on one of them LSU was cleared. Other than knowing it was an issue of employment there aren't that many details that have been released. It's reasonable to assume there may be an Alleva connection there as well. I've not seen it suggested.

There is no denying one thing and that's the handling of the Wade situation was the final straw. On the same note, I don't believe Wade's story is anywhere near to being over.

It's interesting to me they've brought in alumni and a Baton Rouge guy. That seldom corrects problems. See USC.

Hearing some LSU fans are calling this the greatest hire since Nick Saban @ LSU.
We discussed the state of Louisiana and its relationship with Louisiana State on more than one occasion. Consider the number of stories over the years that have ranged from defunding, to caps on salaries, and other political type maneuverings where we've seen how the success and well being of the school ran a different course than what the government figures have said/suggested.

What strikes me with this hire is while we've seen LSU sports fans scream at those public figures to stay away from LSU athletics and now we're seeing a guy hired who just happens to be best friends with a former secretary of state and lieutenant governor who now serves as Gov. John Bel Edwards’s chief budget architect.

Lived in LA for abunch of years.....was like this before i got there...while i was there....and after I left...goes back to Huey Long days..maybe before
Most centers on south LA....the north is the bastard part of the state...
The middleis "nowhere land....."
But can these people eat....mercy

I've watched them over my years as only a spectator can. Much like losing to Alabama can be a foregone conclusion in Death Valley, political fingers poking around everywhere is a historical, repeating event holiday for SEC rivals.

But can these people eat....mercy
Yes sir. Yes, they can.

Side note completely off the subject, but not really...Easter Sunday dinner coming up for a friend's family, right? We had a friend skip out on a little grillin' activities yesterday because he was working on the paddle for the frogmore stew they're serving. Paddle. Did you catch that?

Paddle, you ask? Like a damn oar. That big of a pot of frogmore stew.
