  • Alabama has opened as a 9.5-point favorite against LSU in college football lookahead lines.
  • Using historical betting trends and Collin Wilson's power ratings, we take a deeper look at Alabama vs. LSU odds.
Alabama and LSU, both 8-0, are on a collision course to decide the SEC West when the teams meet in Tuscaloosa on Nov. 9.

And oddsmakers were already offering betting lines for this epic matchup.

PointsBet in New Jersey has the Crimson Tide listed as 9.5-point favorites over the Tigers in lookahead lines with a healthy Tua Tagovailoa two weeks ago. It’s off the board on Sunday after Week 9 games.

The Action Network’s college football power ratings, kept by Collin Wilson, make Alabama -7.5 at home against LSU.

Without a healthy Tagovailoa, we believe Alabama would be a very small favorite, around -1 or a pick’em.

From a betting perspective, Alabama holds the edge in this series with an 8-5-1 against-the-spread (ATS) record since 2005, including covering five of the past six matchups per our Bet Labs data.

Bama has also been favored in 11 of those 14 games, going 7-4 ATS when giving points, but just 1-1-1 ATS when an underdog.

On the other hand, the Tide are 3-3-1 ATS at home, and 5-2 ATS when playing in Baton Rouge.

Alabama has not been a home underdog since 2007 against LSU.

At the time of writing, an LSU vs. Alabama over/under is not available, but we’ll be sure to update this post should a lookahead total come to market.

Bout right but still....with that much on the line...."be interesting to watch....
It may be. Personally, I find a difference between "a good game" and one that's "interesting to watch." And, quite frankly, sloppy and undisciplined football games—no matter the team—aren't something I find good or interesting. Yes, including Bama's.

To me...a game worth watching....is one that has an impact on the landscape....ok
Thats why i watch very few bowl games....meaningless...on the landscape..
Even a game like ky vs tn is worth watching..... plus I enjoy CF....
uga vs Florida.....is impacting....CF east.... neither should lose in conference again...
as for bama....even new Mexico state.....gets my heart a pumping....before KO....
Watched Oregon vs Washington State Saturday night... for awhile...

These sort of contradict each other, don't they? You'll watch a UT vs Uk game that has been meaningless for over a decade but won't watch a bowl game because it's meaningless?

I'll pay attention to UF vs UGA, no doubt. But, if it goes the way we've seen that series go in the past we'll see a lot of jawing before kickoff followed by a lack of fundamental football play.

Understand, my opinion is voiced here concerning that game. Having seen so much crap out of both teams in the past it's hard for me not to look at this game as a cluster...you know where I'm going there
