🏈 LSU Trip Report

We made it back safely from BR. We have 2 daughters at UA and another one in a couple of years. There were 6 of us including my wife, 3 daughters and 1 of their friends from UA. This is my fourth trip to BR with the other trips being somewhat uneventful. The usual "tiger bait" etc. Not sure if was because their expectations were so high or what but it was a rough trip. Really never heard so much cussing about Bama/Saban/Gump/Cousins in my life. Here are some key points:
1. Roll in to B&B Friday night and they are having a memorial service in the backyard. One attendee sees the Alabama shirt and starts hollering "go tigers" at the top of her voice. We were like wow it's a memorial service.
2. Eat dinner at Fuzzy Cactus and make friends with a group of adult LSU fans. All good till drunk uncle Billy shows up. Fine at first then went off on a cursing tirade about everything from Bama to Trump. Manager asked if we wanted him to leave. We said no we have thick skin.
3. Gameday at lunch we drop the girls off so we could park. Briefed them on "tiger bait" and other LSU all in good fun grief they might catch. Took about 30 minutes to get back to them. They said they had 3 F Bama or F you before any "tiger bait".
4. Continued with drunk ponytail LSU fan proceeds to cuss about Saban and Bama and cousins.
That was just getting to the game.
5. TV did not do justice to how crazy they were when they thought they hurt Tua. They were jumping up and down, cheering and going wild like they had scored a TD. Nuts to think they were celebrating the injury of a football player.
The way back to the car was not good either. Could do a separate post about the walk back to the car.

Here is the good:
1. When LSU fans are nice they take you in like family.
2. No targeting call on LSU DB. I told the girls get ready to take cover if they confirm targeting cause the LSU fans will make it rain on us from the upper deck. There would have been a for real riot if the refs confirm that call.
3. Chanting "We want Bama" and singing Rammer Jammer.
4. Having several LSU fans stop us to tell us they had gone to the game in Tuscaloosa last year and how well they were treated.
5. ALABAMA DOMINATING THE LOS AND THE GAME

Overall it was a trip of extremes. Felt bad for UA families there as it's not a family friendly place for visitors.
Thanks for letting me vent. RTR

It is usually the younger LSU fans or the ones who never took a a single college class, that are the shitheads. I had a couple of those behind me at the Superdome, during the 2011 BCSCG, that were cheering and saying things like "hope it is career ending" when CJ Mosley got hurt after he picked off the toss. The LSU student section. off to our right, starting singing some nonsense cheer. The older, likely LSU grads, fans in front of us just shook their heads. I gave them(the morons behind us) such a hate filled stare, they left a few minutes later.

I have had a lot of fun with some of the better LSU fans. They truly do take you in, if you get past the initial Tiger Bait chants.

Been to most venues....including BR..and only once... and in TN ....did anybody act like an ass...( except a few bama fans most every where i have been).......
But i have heard BR is worse since nick has been to bama...
All it takes is a few.....
alcohol, boys being boys, and football.....
Now, Ms50+ ....she wears her Bama stuff when she is in BR with her sister...
She has had low life say something.... they usually regret it....

Back in the day, it was just like coach Bryant said, "It's like playing inside a drum." Except for a temporary loss of hearing it was always a fun trip for the most part. These Saban days, I usually stayed in New Orleans and often skipped the whole tailgating scene. Getting back to the car in one piece has been the goal now and yes, the Nike Saban process plus bayou fans and 8 in a row have taken a toll on the Cajun's sense of humor. Just bought a new, large screen, 4K TV and I never enjoyed the Bayou more than last Saturday.
