🏈 LSU to win a Share of the NC?

I don't think the split will happen, but I think Danielson has a point. What he said on Finebaum last week, makes sense.

Think about it like this. You and your buddy are playing some sort of game when you were a kid. You win the first match, he wins the second match and declares himself the champ and wants to go to bed and call it quits. Is he the champ?

I really think it should be determined on how the rematch plays out. Who wins? By what point margin do they win? Did the winning team dominate? If we go out there and put on a show and win very very convincingly then there shouldn't be a split. If it's the same type of game as it was in November with us squeaking by then you have a legitimate reason to split the title. There's just gotta be more to it than "who won" in my opinion.

If my buddy and I agreed that the winner in the second match would be champion then yes I would declare myself champion. How many state champs, Super Bowl champs, NCAA basketball champs would be taken away if we made it a rule that rematches for championships should not be played? Rematches for championships happen in other sports why not NCAA football?

I should have said I see his point, and I see yours. It really doesn't matter to me. If we win in a close one, and the AP decides to give to LSU, that's fine with me.

Exactly. 2008--Patriots beat Giants in last game of season, but Giants win Superbowl. Nobody is crying for a 2 of 3, "winner take all" game. I realize that a playoff was involved. Well, the BCS is the closest thing to it we have, and LSU/Bama clearly would shut down any other team, including Okie State. Therefore, it's the only viable matchup. And believe me, as an LSU fan, I do NOT want to see Bama again!

I think the CBS guys should just shut the hell up call the game,bc they have no fricken vote and they hate Bama and thats all there is to it

Funny, up until this year, the ever-lasting cry on LSU message boards was "ESPN hates LSU"!

And I don't see LSU winning the AP if they lose to Bama...the teams are too close...winner takes all.

And for the record, Danielson can be an idiot--I think he floats back and forth between intelligence and idiocy.

If Alabama and LSU end up playiing one another again, the ONLY team who can claim a national championship, is the one who takes home the crystal trophy that night. End of story.

We may be on opposite sides, but 100% agree with your statement...all the sports radio talking heads with all the talk of somehow needing one team to win 2/3 is ridiculous...this ain't baseball!
