🏈 Lost among all the other comments today—did you notice how many penalties we had?

Nice! The CBS crew and the Tenn fans think we should have had another BIG one at the end.

Here's my take. They just made a huge play to win a game. The ball ended up in the hands of Julio and Rolando. The UT guys were running off the field so apparently everyone thought the game was over.

I could see their frustration if the UT holder had scooped it up and scored a TD. But come on. Lets not make this a whine fest because someone showed some excitement. The game was over.

Regarding the call for a penelty with no time left on the clock: How many times have sports fans screamed about Refs injecting themselves into a game preventing the game frm being decided on the field? This is one of those case where the right thing to do was to non-call.

Techinally Holding can be called on every play, yet a discretion measured by fairness is what we all want. This spirit is why the non-call is the right thing to do.

Not wearing mouth-pieces every play
Coaches stepping onto the field
Chin Strap snaps not in place
Offensive Linemen moving their heads while in a down stance
Helmet stickers on UNIforms

Non-calls are a wanted and needed institution of the game.

The comments from the CBS crew about those penalties was the first they have done that really got under my skin.

IF the clock reads 0:00...they can throw all the flags they want...means nothing.

Miami's championship teams, including the one that beat Bama in the '90 ('89 season) Sugar Bowl, were always heavily penalized. We can go penalty free in some future games this season, and we will lose if the offensive play and play calling continues in this fashion.
