| LIFE Looking for a place to stay for the Citadel game

So, I am looking at hotels to stay at for the game. How bad is the La Quinta on McFarland? It would be my wife, 2 year old, and me. Is there any other recommendations? Not too expensive. Would it be better to stay in Birmingham?

Any suggestions for what to do while in town? I have been, but my wife and daughter haven't been.

there are a few hotels in bessemer (south of birmingham, maybe 10-15 minutes closer to tuscaloosa) that are decent. they're all very close together and are very close to the interstate that leads you to tuscaloosa (20/59 South).

definitely visit Bryant Museum
definitely eat at Ramma Jamma's
take a walk over to Ferguson and check out the Supe Store (although there is a smaller one on Bryant Drive, and a big tent on The Quad on game days)
