Protho wasn’t really a highly touted recruit. LeRon McCalin, Tim Castille, and Matt Caddell were the stars of that class.

ya but he turned out to be one of the best receievers ive ever seen. Until that nasty break. Also I thought its cool to look back and see 2-3 star people who turn out to be just as good as 5stars.

I think Pro was only a 3-star that year. Phenominal small-school guy though. Shifty, fast and was an integral part to Cleburne County's success during the time.

Looking back through those classes, it's amazing how many of them are guys I've never heard of.

One question, why was JPW shown as signing as part of the 2004 and 2005 classes?

I was 22 when Prothro came out of High School stationed on a 225 foot bouy tender. I went on Temporary Duty Status to a 87 foot patrol boat. Thats where I met Tryones Cousin. My Wife bought me my first seats ever to an Alabama game. She was Hawaii Alumni so I had to sit in the student section.Tyrones cousin came and got me and I got to sit right next to the Croyle's. People all over Aloha Stadium where singing "Sweet Home Alabama" I was in Heaven.
