Personally, I think that football helps the other sports . Football, with the attendant publicity and television coverage has given every team in the league deep pockets, and the league has used the extra $ to build up the other sports. Mississippi State feels secure enough financially to hire a major name basketball coach at $2m per year. The barn hires Bruce Pearl. A couple of years back South Carolina pried Frank Martin loose from Kansas State. Football produced money makes these hires possible. The future will show fairly soon whether we will get Marshall or not, but our coffers are full f cash generated almost altogether by football, making it possible for us to pursue him
