University of Alabama senior guard Levi Randolph continued to add to his long list of accolades for the 2014-15 season on Tuesday when he was named the SEC Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Randolph was also selected to the All-SEC second team, the only Alabama player chosen to that squad.

The selection of Randolph as Scholar-Athlete of the Year marks only the second time that an Alabama player has been accorded that honor. Justin Knox, a Tuscaloosa native, won the award in 2009. Last week, Randolph, from Madison, was chosen as the school's first Academic All-American in basketball.

"We are extremely proud of Levi," Alabama head coach Anthony Grant said on Tuesday as his Crimson Tide team prepared to leave for Nashville, Tenn., site of this year's SEC Tournament. "He has been an outstanding representative of this program as a player and as a student."

Randolph earned his undergraduate degree in marketing in August, 2014, completing the requirements for graduation in just three year while earning a 3.45 grade point average. In the fall. he began taking graduate-level classes for a master's degree in marketing, finishing his first semester of grad school with a 3.75 GPA.

As a player, he leads the Tide in scoring (15.2 ppg), assists (2.4 apg), steals (1.4 spg) and minutes (35.2 mpg), while ranking second in rebounds per game (5 rpg). He has played in all 132 games since arriving on campus, making 117 starts in his four-year career.

Randolph was one of two players from the state of Alabama to earn All-SEC honors this year. Mississippi State guard Craig Sword, from Montgomery, was also chosen to the second team.
