🏈 Les Miles named Kansas HC - signs 5 years @ $2.775M per year (pockets $1.5M additional from LSU)

Well if I understand it...LSU had him locked up till 2023 for only 6.5 mil. He gets 1.5 mil now...and can take another job making another 2-4 mil during the next 2-4 years. If he does well in 2/3 years....He can sign an extension and or take another high paying job. If this didn't happen then he is stuck at 6.5 mil over the next 5 years. Now he gets 1.5 flat out........gets a new job at Kansas making 2-4 mil during that time and opportunity to make a lot more....how is this a bad plan?

A Les Miles offense in the Big XII?
It was enough when he was at Okie State to defeat two OU teams--both ranked in the top five at the time--in back to back seasons. If Mangino could get Kansas to be as competitive as they were in his era, and Les did the same with Okie State when he was there, those jumping to the conclusion it'll never work? That seems a bit premature. It's a hell of a challenge for Miles, no doubt.

I find it hard to imagine that Kansas officials didn't make it clear to Miles that he needs to bring his offensive strategy into the 21st century. His OC hire will tell the tale. Maybe he can lure Hugh Freeze away from the AAF. Or even hire Bobby Petrino. Neither would be a long term hire. But he needs a quick turn-around. Should be entertaining to watch....
