I did see To’oTo’s name in the subject of the original post. I thought he meant he had news about high school players because of him saying “recruiting news”. Thanks for clarifying!

His father made his decision based on a position coach, Brian Niedermeyer, and their friendship. What did Niedermeyer tell his dad? Henry would be the alpha dog in the UT defense. He was. He could play his way into the NFL at UT. He could.

The mistake his dad refers to comes from how the athletic department in Knoxville has fallen apart.

I've always said Pruitt is a jerk. That's not news. I've also pointed to how he can "cower" under pressure. See how he handled the Mobile area when that was his territory.

Put that together and than add Pruitt is going into year two under Fulmer.

I doesn't sadden me to say a lot don't realize how badly Fulmer screwed up that program. And it wasn't on good footing when he came back.

They were recruiting him. These guys hitting the transfer portal are being pursued as much as high school kids.

He certainly is. His ability to evolve is impeccable.

In this case though, the timing of the rule and his ascension is a nice coincidence. As I believe he noted, due to the UA brand and recent dominance, it basically just allows Alabama to lose their bad players and add other teams good players. Not his fault and he certainly deserves no blame, but he's going to reap the benefits.

Its a stupid rule....period!

the ncaa should have quit making exceptions....sitting outa year was a "bee sting"....for a young man showing that even at their age...there are consequences to their decisions....nothing more....many have sat out,..and worked to get back....to playing time...

Not sure from this if you agree or disagree with the rule. One comment Saban made recently about the portal was that what do kids learn about struggle and perseverance with this model? There really is a lot to learn from something not being handed to you quickly. Those are life lessons that will be missed with this model. Always pros and cons with anything. Never black and white.

The Easy Button Society isn't too concerned with discipline, respect, nor perseverance. College football peaked already and like most everything else is headed to a bad ending. It's been a great game for a long time.
