was just discussing this with someone.

my input was.....how many times have you seen the assistants interviewed? not many if at all (unless it's setup beforehand by the program). so i don't think we'll have any issues in that regard.

We all know there's only one voice for the program. At the most we'd hear from him five times or less in the next year.

I asked BWW this earlier today. How did you guys feel when Lance Thompson returned? We saw/heard how he ran his mouth in his short stint in Knoxville. Have you heard anything from him since?

It was Kiffin's mouth that created so much dislike from those around the SEC. That problem is all but eliminated IF he does join the staff.

I've thought about the few stories in the last year...changing jersey's on kids, the deflated ball incident (attributed to a GA,) and the like. IF there was one thing that told me it was he wasn't ready, or capable, of handling the USC program.

After spending eight days with Saban discussing our offense...seems that would give a pretty damn good indication on how he'd fit in with the staff and what we're doing.

I've no reason to believe he'll be the only guy interviewed. He's certainly the name that will draw the most attention.

Petrino and Kiffin are two entirely different cases. Kiffin ran his mouth and got everybody to hate him then left the Beacon on the Hill to go to USC which obviously pissed the state of Tennessee off. Petrino is just simply a low down no good sob with zero morals. One I don't mind coaching at Bama the other I would rather take Shula or Franchione

While some may not like OT's question it isn't a bad question—no need, in my eyes, to start throwing insults back and forth even if he's trying to "gig" some fans a bit. Just my opinion...

Addressing his thought here...what similarities are there between Kiffin and Petrino?

Both are hot heads who ran their mouth.

Both left a job in the middle of the night to take another. I can't blame Kiffin for leaving TN. There isn't a soul here that'll honestly say TN is a better job than USC. At it's finest, I'd listen to an argument TN is on par with USC.

Kiffin did some things on the recruiting trail that in the end were secondary violations. Petrino did more but never was actually caught.

How much of the disdain for Kiffin comes from the fact he coached at TN?

There are some things that put these two guys in different boats when I look at them. I'm curious how some of you guys separate the two.

I don't think Kiffin suffers from the lack of morals that Petrino has.

Petrino wouldn't know what a defense was if it slapped him in the face and Kiffin at least is smart enough to hire somebody that knows defense a little bit.
