Kiffen actually has a pretty good offensive football mind. He's a terrible head coach for sure. The thing that concerns me most, though, is that he is an a$$ and a spotlight hound. I don't see him subordinating himself in good faith under Saban. That chemistry would be a real concern.

I have extremely mixed feelings about this. Laney sucks as a headcoach, but he does have a good offensive mindset. And about his input for the sugar bowl....i honestly don't think it had much to do with our loss at all. It looked like the same Bama offense. We ran the ball very well with Henry, and then we would pass for 3 and out or put Yeldon in and he tapdances and maybe gets a few yards, but nothing consistant. Yeldon is a damn good back but he was cold that night and Henry was on fire. Maybe Kitten would surprise everybody if he was under Saban and the Alabama program. Remember, we laughed our asses off when Auburn hired cheezit and it only took them a year to win a championship (with a little help, wink wink). And then we laughed at the Gus hire and we all know what happened there. College football and coaching hires are beyond unpredictable these days. We will just have to wait and see.

Never thought I would see the day where we would turn our nose up to a former USC/UT head coach as an OC. That day has come my friends. I hope it's not true. Then only positive thing I can think of when it comes to Lane is Mrs. Kif. She's pretty easy on the eyes.

Kiffin was a horrible head coach, but he's an awesome offensive mind, so unlike everybody else I'd be good with him being our new OC.

I'm also guessing Nussy and Saban had stuff going on the inside and Saban told him to look at other opportunities or Nussy didn't like that Saban brought in another offensive mind to help out a little. Either way I would be happy with Kiffin and I'm not heart broken that Nussy is leaving

Saban inquired about Kiffin back in '07. As others have posted, he does have a good offensive mind. To me, he's a walking nzaa violation, but if CNS wants him, I guess that'll be okay.

As far as Layla goes, one has to wonder if that makes Kiffin an immediate candidate to be on James Franklin's staff. (shrug)

Edited: Franklin's staff at PSU. ESPN is reporting PSU has offered Franklin the job.

I will say this for Kiffin. He was the OC at USCw when Reggie Bush and Lendale White both ran for over a 1,000 yards.
